Our Clients chose the Dominican Republic to tie the knot, and here's how it went down:
They had a very intimate beach ceremony, but that day, the clouds were intent on playing with our sun.
The ceremony was held at a beautiful, private, beach located in Punta Cana.
Surrounded by 22 of their closest family members, the two said: "I do."
The reception was had on this boat, which was docked on still waters, and when the clouds would appear, the overcast sky's dance with the sun brought life back into the sea.
The top deck was my favorite spot! Overcast or sunny, I loved the atmosphere up here the most. Our groom was telling his family about the night before, when we picked them up from their resort and in true Adventure Session fashion, drove them around for nearly 7 hours to take photos in a different city. We were so happy we got to see the country with them, and knew this would be a moment we would always reflect upon. They talked, they laughed, they smoked cigars, but the love was definitely felt.
Did you know the Dominican Republic had a marital tradition called "Crazy Hour?" It was nuts--in all the best ways.
Following Crazy Hour the crew geared up for dinner & the final event: the cake cutting.
Our boat docked a little later than anticipated, but the bus was also late. Understanding how overwhelming a wedding can be--whether it be big or small--we offered our Clients one last voyage back to their hotel room. God bless Andrew because he offered to stay with the groom at the front of the gate to wait for family members. Huge tip when traveling to a country with a higher threat level: Stay in nice resorts (like this one).
